How do we tackle these typical small business and the other problems?
Well, not by doing lengthy analytical work, which will distract the Owner/Chief Executive Officer and his staff from their work. This might be necessary in huge organizations, where the owners or top managers themselves first have to get a hold on what's going wrong or they don't trust their staff to find it out. And it is necessary for all consultants, who want to bring one of their business concepts to you. Their number crunching serves the purpose to find a way to make their concept fit into your business. But after all of this you're mostly left alone with the implementation.
We instead rely on the findings of our open end structured in depth (free of charge) conversation about your small business, with which we start, assuming the all time present Owner/CEO knows the problems and most of the solutions. Our exchange of minds gives us a list of what has the biggest $$ impact and what can be implemented with reasonable effort in a reasonable time. And then we start putting it on work.

Implementation is done by adding our own time and skills to your time as additional top management resource. What has to be avoided is an additional workload to the scarcest resource in the business, the time of the Owner/CEO. With our additional hours - normally 16 per month - we accomplish those non-routine changes, which improve the results of the business.
For instance we develop and establish the marketing routines for more sales, we hire and establish sales teams, we write - if necessary - the business and the financial plan to talk to banks and financiers, we search and evaluate alternative suppliers and establish the cooperation with them. Then we routinize these activities and transfer them to one of the employees, including a routine report to the Owner/CEO. This is how, step by step, his workday gets deflated and his business becomes a company.

In case it is more than just fixing the manifold problems behind the small
business symptoms named "I have no time, we're flat in sales, and we have
no cash available", in case it is about solving a very specific issue like "quality assessment" or "international logistics" for instance, we will bring in a specialist to work on this.
The specialist would (in the first example) define the procedures, educate staff members, write the manuals ... in order to get a service delivered, which is the same for all clients, no matter which employee will perform the task. The way this is implemented will be the same again: Taking over the non-routine work, implementing the solution and substituting oneself out by putting employees in charge of running the newly established routine.
Are you now ready to schedule the first free-of-charge meeting? Or are there questions in need of an answer? If so, please continue reading (http://www.crescat-nyc.com/solvingtheissues.html).
